we"Better movement for a better life" is our motto. This is no truer than when we enter the golden years of our life. Dunsborough Exercise Physiology holds a strong commitment to the Over 55's population of this beautiful South West area. We want you to be able to enjoy all the activities that give you pleasure in life, and moving regularly with the experienced guidance of Exercise Physiologist Drew Hoar is a great way to a continued quality of life.
Exercising into your senior years has endless benefits, including increased balance, strength, flexibility, stamina and managing chronic health conditions.
There are a number of different programs that we offer to get you moving. One-on-one sessions with Drew are a great way to target specific concerns and goals, including chronic health conditions and injury rehabilitation. Drew's attention to detail and personalised take-home programs prove very effective, with long-lasting benefits seen well beyond your appointment. More details about one-on-one sessions can be found by clicking here.
Our popular Move Improve Over 55's group fitness classes are circuit-style classes offering a combination of different focuses; including cardiovascular exercise, balance practices and improving functional strength. The class numbers are capped a total of 8 people, to ensure safety and to enable us to personalise each exercise as much as possible. For this reason, we insist all new participants attend a free 15 minute consultation with Drew prior to their first class. Class attendance is strictly by bookings, so please contact us directly on 0409 299 395 to arrange your consultation or book a class. The group fitness timetable can be found by clicking here.
Dunsborough Exercise Physiology are also now conducting the Exercise Right for Active Aging (ERAA) program.
This program consists of one block of 12 weeks of specialised 60-minute group fitness classes for Australians aged 65 years and older who are not currently meeting their targeted 30 minutes of daily exercise.
There are two programs running concurrently:
There will be an initial assessment conducted prior to the first group fitness class, involving some physical and general evaluation. At the 12th and final session, a further assessment will be conducted to compare measurements.
This service is Government Subsidised, however there is a small out-of-pocket charge for each session.
If you are an Australian aged 65 years or older and do not currently meet your target of 30 minutes moderate exercise every day, please speak to us about joining our ERAA program today by calling 0409 299 395.
If you are over 55 and do not meet the requirements for the Active Aging program, you can always join our Move & Improve Over 55’s group fitness class. Click here for class times and details.
